Humidification System

A humidification system is fundamentally designed to control the humidity of the air and add moisture so that the air reaches an appropriate moisture content that meets the quality requirements of the processes.

The method of adding moisture to the air may vary and depends on the facilities and the conditions into which the humidification system must be integrated.

Air humidification using cold water, in the form of a high-pressure humidification system, can be applied as duct humidification, where the water evaporates in the airflow within the ventilation system, or it can be applied as room humidification, where the water is introduced directly into the space using a series of ventilated atomizers and nozzles.

Air humidification system for room installation

Room-installed air humidification systems are typically used in production environments such as printing facilities, electronics manufacturing, and other types of production where high levels of localized heat are generated.

Room-installed air humidification systems can:

  • Reduce excess heat through adiabatic cooling
  • Protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD) by controlling air humidity
  • Reduce the risk of products drying out
  • Help control airborne dust particles, which can pose a threat to production equipment, product quality, and employee health

Humidification system with duct humidification

A solution with duct humidification is also referred to as an AHU solution (Air Handling Unit) and is an air humidification system integrated into a ventilation system. It introduces atomized water into the airflow.

This type of air humidification system is typically used in larger buildings such as offices, museums, theatres, hospitals, and similar facilities, where controlling air humidity is important both to improve comfort for the people in the building and to protect materials and equipment.

Capacity and design

At Airtec, we design all our air humidification systems based on standard components, combined with more than thirty years of experience across a wide range of industries and applications.

This is the foundation of any good system: strong components, in-depth specialist knowledge, and not least a thorough assessment of the requirements and possibilities of each individual installation.

Free project assessment

At Airtec®, we offer a free evaluation of your company’s facilities with the aim of identifying how an air humidification system can optimize and improve, for example, both production and the working environment.

In close dialogue with you, our project engineers examine the humidity requirements for the individual products in your production, and we also map the system layout, seasonal variations throughout the year, existing ventilation systems, and all processes that may generate excess heat – to mention just some of the parameters we assess.

Based on this investigation, we provide a detailed recommendation on the best way to optimize production, storage, and the working environment.
