Correct air humidity improves working environment and the bottom line
Prevent dry eyes and throats, headaches and exhausted employees.
Dry air in offices and other commercial buildings can have many negative consequences: Discomfort for your employees because of dry eyes, irritating coughs and intolerable headaches.
A poor indoor climate does not only affect employer health, it can also negatively affect your bottom line. Here’s how:
Dry air at the workplace can cause various irritations for your employees and negatively affect your bottom line. That’s why it is important to have a good indoor climate with the correct level of air humidity.
In general, people are good at ventilating their private homes and keeping an eye on the temperature, but they neglect to do so in their place of work – despite spending many hours a day there.
This is especially important during the winter, where the indoor climate is under extra pressure due to the lower temperatures. The high difference between outside and inside air temperature means that relative air humidity will drop as the air inside increases in temperature – even if it’s raining or snowing outside.
In a dry environment, viruses are easily spread in the air and improper levels of air humidity can therefore increase sick days among your employees.
Avoid dry air
Luckily, there are many things we can do to prevent dry air and poor indoor climate in the workplace. When the indoor climate suffers from dry air, air humidity must be increased.
The first thing you can do is lowering the temperature to 20-22° Celsius – if possible, even lower. If the employees start feeling cold because of the temperature decrease, try warmer clothes and/or checking for drafts. If lowering the temperatures does not improve the air humidity, installing an automatic air humidity system might be the way to go.
An automatic air humidity system from Airtec® can add humidity to rooms with a dry indoor climate. At Airtec®, we are specialists in creating the perfect setup for each individual solution, which is why we never sell a standardized system.
